Is there mandatory jail time for DUI in DC?

Jason Kalafat: There is mandatory jail time for a DUI conviction in DC in certain cases. If you have a prior DUI conviction or a conviction for a related offense in another jurisdiction within the past 15 years, there will be mandatory jail time. If you have a blood alcohol content score of 0.20 or above, then there is mandatory jail for your DUI conviction. If you had kids in the car at the time that you were stopped and end up being convicted of DUI, there is mandatory jail for that as well. If you have illegal drugs in your system and that is the basis for the DUI, then that has mandatory jail as well.
